In any given year we produce up to 1,000,000 tonnes of high quality woodchip.
Logs are transported to our Down Road mill, approximately 22km north of Albany and are processed through our purpose built, static chip mill.
Once logs arrive they are loaded onto the live feed deck for forwarding to the log wash.
A critical element of our processing and a part of our quality assurance standards is to ensure that there is no contamination in the woodchips.
Contamination can take the form of plastics, e.g. poly pipe, flag tape, wire and other contaminants all of which could potentially damage the equipment and cause discolouration during the paper making process.
Once clean, logs are then forwarded via conveyors to the chipper.
